Mint Flavoring

Mint is cool, refreshing, and is generally associated with a healthy, clean feeling.  Modern consumers are drawn to the complexity of mint pairings while still enjoying its soothing nature as a standalone flavor. Northwestern Extract Company has many different mint options to suit your needs, and ideas for the perfect pairing for each mint profile.

Spearmint, also known as Garden Mint, has a delicate, almost sweet, fresh minty taste and lacks the strong cooling effect that you would find with peppermint.

Peppermint is pungent (almost spicy) with much more herbal, sometimes “dirty” notes, and cooling due to a large percentage of menthol.  We have a variety of peppermint flavors that can highlight the earthiness and cooling nature, or creamy peppermints, as you would find in a peppermint patty candy, that contains creamy and vanillic components that calm down the strong menthol notes.  Make sure to try our new TTB-Approvable Candy Cane flavor, available just in time for Christmas!
